The goal of this website is to provide an in-depth dramaturgical study of the world of Young Jean Lee’s 2010 play, LEAR.

LEAR Professional Development and Production History as of May 7, 2013
LEAR premiered in January 2010 at Soho Rep in New York City. It was co-commissioned and co-produced by Soho Rep and Young Jean Lee’s Theatre Company. It was written and directed by Young Jean Lee and produced by Caleb Hammons. It received several workshop performances between 2008-2010 through Young Jean Lee’s Theatre Company. LEAR will receive its second professional production and Chicago premiere on May 9, 2013 at Red Tape Theatre (running until June 23) directed by James D. Palmer, who previously directed Lee’s CHURCH/PULLMAN, WA with Red Tape in 2010. The rest of the production team is as follows:
